We are living in The Age of Aquarius, generally accepted as an age of advanced enlightenment, new logic, and unprecedented changes. The song by 5th Dimension summarizes our times best.
Our age was preceded by The Age of Pieces. An era marked significantly by the development of human thoughts influenced by the rise of Christianity and then Islam, giving rise to the ebbs and flow of modern civilization, passing through the eras of darkness, renaissance, conquests and technologies.
The age before 0AD backwards to about 3500BCE, which saw the maturing of ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Babylon, Akkadia, Assyrian, Sumeria, Mesopotamia etc, is called the Age of Aries.
The Age of Aries was also marked by widespread superstition including the practice of black magic rituals best exemplified in the Pharoah's court during the times of Moses. These were normally attributed to the sharing of secret codes by "fallen angels" during earlier eras, which were considered perverts against actual human nature.
Before Aries was the Age of Gemini - the rise of human condition in the form of society, and includes the invention of writings and numbers, and the rise of sophisticated civilizations with laws and teachings, such as China and Indus.
